Representing about 3,000 telecommunications workers employed by Verizon, IBEW Local 824 in June 2013 celebrated the 50th anniversary year since four locals merged to form Local 824 and provide members with one central bargaining unit in the Tampa/St. Petersburg region.

Union Histories produced a NO COST History Program Book for Local 824, telling the entire history of the local, to help commemorate its landmark event.
