I.B.E.W. Local 1579 has been the “Official Electricians” of Augusta and Eastern Georgia/Western South Carolina since 1948, and the Local marked its 75-year Anniversary with a Gala Celebration Event on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Augusta Marriott and the production of a special 75th Anniversary History Book by UNION HISTORIES to preserve the important story of the local.
UNION HISTORIES performed research, examined the local's records and interviewed many of its retirees to put together the Local 1579 History and Book at NO COST to the local, as UNION HISTORIES sold sponsorships and advertisements for the Event and Book -- and shared the revenue with the local!
