Brother William “Bill” Woodward is a third-generation ironworker who started in the trade on February 1, 1980, with Iron Workers Local Union No. 290 of Dayton, Ohio. After serving as an apprentice and journeyman ironworker; a foreman, general foreman and superintendent; an apprenticeship-program instructor; business manager of Local 290; an Iron Workers International general organizer; and president of the Iron Workers District Council of Southern Ohio & Vicinity, Brother Woodward retired on August 25, 2022.

To help honor Brother Woodward, UNION HISTORIES produced a special keepsake Program Book that was distributed to guests of the Retirement Ceremony. UNION HISTORIES also solicited sponsorships and ads for the book to cover the costs of production for the District Council!
